- Grade
- not a legal frequencyADDED ON THE GAP PASS. Art. 69.16 requires the employer to 'dresser et maintenir à jour un registre' and to keep it 'tant que le bâtiment ou l'ouvrage de génie civil est sous son autorité', and to make it available to the workers and their representatives. It sets no cycle of its own - the cycle is the two-year inspection on the line above. PROVENANCE: the verbatim reading is carried over from the commercial-buildings pass of this same project; LegisQuebec and CanLII were blocked by the egress proxy on this pass.

No rule sets a date
For these obligations, no instrument sets a date or an interval: it is a finding of the source, and no countdown is kept. The reason is the grade's.
- A self-employed person you hire may count as your employeeThe previous pass read ss. 9 and 18. Section 9 states a status test with a short list of exceptions; it names no interval and no document.
- Accessibility (barrier-free design)Section 3.8 attaches at construction or transformation, not on a cycle. No instrument found imposes a periodic accessibility audit on a privately owned Quebec assembly building, and the whole of Chapter VIII of the Safety Code was read without finding one. Anyone claiming an accessibility renewal date is inventing one. The Construction Code itself was not opened, so the section numbers are not independently verified, but since no interval is being asserted the risk of printing a wrong date is nil.
- Accessibility requirements on construction or transformationThe RBQ's own page states that accessibility standards are in section 3.8 of division B of chapter I of the Construction Code and that the RBQ checks compliance on new construction and when transformation work is done. The duty is triggered by work, not by a cycle. I did not open section 3.8 itself, and I have not verified which edition of the National Building Code is currently adopted by chapter I.
- ADDED - a public health director can order a sick worker out or shut the activity downRead verbatim in the consolidated French text of the Public Health Act on CanLII on 17 September 2026 (the Act is current to 2026-04-07). Every one of these powers is triggered by the director forming an opinion during an investigation. There is no cycle, no periodic review and no fixed duration except the 72 hour cap on isolation in subparagraph 7, which is a maximum, not an interval. Nothing here can be turned into a recurring date.
- ADDED - Confined space: only authorised, trained workers may go inRead in full this pass. Article 301 requires the information to be given and explained before each entry. Article 309 requires the rescue workers to have had training developed by a qualified person. Nowhere in section XXVI is there a card, an expiry or a refresher period. This is a genuine negative answer and it should be printed as one.
- ADDED - no law says who may deliver the six hour and twelve hour trainingThis is a verified absence, established on 17 September 2026 by two checks I ran myself. First, articles 2.2.4.4 and 2.2.4.5 were extracted and read in full: they fix duration, subjects, the ITAQ exam and the 60% pass mark, and say nothing about who may teach. Second, I searched the entire consolidated regulation for the string 'formateur' and there are ZERO matches, while 'dispensee par' occurs exactly once - in article 2.2.4.8, the short session. The drafter required an authorised deliverer for the short session and did not for the two main trainings. Quebec.ca's own wording concedes the split: the duration and subjects are 'determines par la loi', while the trainer sets the price.
- ADDED - Paid time off and travel costs to get or renew the first aid certificateRead in full this pass: «La personne désignée par l'employeur dans un établissement ou par le maître d'oeuvre sur un chantier de construction pour être secouriste qui n'est pas détentrice d'un certificat valide de secourisme octroyé par un organisme reconnu par la Commission peut s'absenter de son travail sans perte de salaire, le temps nécessaire à l'obtention ou au renouvellement d'un tel certificat.» The right is triggered by the need to obtain or renew, not by any cycle of its own. The cycle is the 3 year maximum life of the certificate in article 2.1.
- ADDED - Qualified childcare educator, and two out of three on the floorRead in full this pass. A diploma does not expire and the regulation sets no renewal, no refresher and no re-qualification cycle. This is a standing headcount duty.
- ADDED - There is no personal hazardous products (WHMIS) card in Quebec lawRead in full this pass. The words «certificat», «attestation» and «carte» do not appear anywhere in this regulation - zero occurrences. Article 32 adds event triggers: a worker taking on a new task, a new hazardous product, or new significant data requiring a label or safety data sheet change. So there is no individual expiry to print.
- Agreement before sharing personal information for a business sale or transactionThe only timing words are « dans un délai raisonnable ». No number of days is set anywhere in the article.
- Agreement with the public health and social services body on shared careI read articles 14.1 to 14.4 in full. They require the agreement to exist and set its minimum content in detail, but prescribe no renewal, revision or review interval anywhere. The only dates attached to them were transitional (D. 1574-2022, ss. 59: 15 June 2023 for categories 1 and 2, 15 September 2023 for categories 3 and 4), which I read at the end of the consolidated text, and both have passed.
- Anonymising information: fix the purpose first, use a competent supervisor, and prove the re-identification risk is very lowNEW IN THIS PASS. I read the whole regulation in the consolidated French text. Articles 3 to 7 describe a sequence of steps inside one process, triggered by the decision to anonymise. Not one of them contains a number of days, months or years.
- Applying and posting the anti-maltreatment policyDowngraded from the source list. I read article 9 in the consolidated text and it says exactly what was quoted, but no interval attaches to the residence. The five-year cycle in article 7, which I also read, binds Santé Québec or the establishment's board to revise ITS policy and submit it to the minister at least every five years — it is not an RPA date.
It is a running record with no cycle.
- Arboriculture qualification certificateThe article text is confirmed word for word, including the note «L'exigence de détenir le certificat de qualification ou le titre d'apprenti prend effet à compter du 8 juin 2026. (D. 647-2025, 2025 G.O. 2, 2908)». But 8 June 2026 is a commencement date and it has already passed. It is not a due date, and printing it in an interval field on a live business page would read as something falling due. The requirement is now simply in force and continuous, and the article prescribes no renewal period for the certificate.
- Asbestos registerADDED ON THE GAP PASS.
- Asbestos registerNEW LINE. I read art. 69.16 verbatim. It requires the employer to «dresser et maintenir à jour un registre» and to keep it «tant que le bâtiment ou l'ouvrage de génie civil est sous son autorité», and to make it available to the workers and their representatives. It sets no cycle of its own – the cycle is the two-year inspection on the line above.
The article sets no validity period. ASP Construction, the issuing body, states on its own site that no ASP card carries an expiry date.
- Automobile liability insurance for a vehicle used in the businessThe dollar figure is confirmed — article 87 reads « Le montant obligatoire minimum de l'assurance de responsabilité est de 50 000 $ » — but the Act sets an amount, not a renewal interval, and the interval field here reads 'none prescribed'. Policies renew annually by commercial practice, not by statute, so the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency. Printing an annual renewal date against this article would be inventing one.
- Autonomy screening and assessment toolsDowngraded from the source list. I read articles 13.1 and 13.6. Both are permissive and consent-driven, with no interval. Article 13.6 al. 4 requires the written consent « de façon spécifique, pour chaque repérage et pour chaque évaluation », which is a per-event rule, not a frequency.
- Backflow prevention device maintenance and field testingArticle 7 was replaced in full effective 15 July 2026. The replacement drops CSA-B64.10-01 by name, points instead at article 2.6.2.1 of part 2 of division B of the Code national de la plomberie as adopted by chapitre III of the Code de construction and as modified by section 1 of the Règlement modifiant le Code de construction (Décret 971-2026), and retains CSA B64.10.1 «Entretien et mise à l'essai à pied d'œuvre des dispositifs antirefoulement» with no edition year. The new text still prescribes no interval, so the interval stays blank, the shape stays continuous and the grade stays not_a_legal_frequency. Only the citation and the quoted wording in grade_reason need rewriting.
- Backflow prevention on the drinking water connectionStill not_a_legal_frequency and still continuous: the replacement text sets no test cycle either. Only the citation content changes.
- Before sending personal information outside Québec: assessment plus a written agreementArticle 17 is triggered before each transfer or outsourcing arrangement. All five of its paragraphs set conditions; it sets no renewal or re-assessment cycle.
- Cannabis no-smoking signs - a separate duty under a separate lawADDED ON THE GAP PASS. The second paragraph forbids removing or altering the signs. It sets no cycle. PROVENANCE: the verbatim readings are carried over from the commercial-buildings and restaurant passes of this same project, which agree; LegisQuebec and CanLII were blocked by the egress proxy on this pass.
- Cannabis no-smoking signs – a separate duty under a separate lawNEW LINE. I read art. The second paragraph forbids removing or altering the signs. It sets no cycle.
- Carbon monoxide alarm where there is a fuel-burning appliance or a door to an indoor garageI read arts. 359 and 360 in full on CanLII. They require the alarm, set the standard it must meet and its audibility, and say it must be installed according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Neither article sets a replacement or test interval, unlike art. 358 for smoke alarms.
- Carbon monoxide alarmsADDED ON THE GAP PASS, and deliberately kept thin. The earlier assembly-buildings pass, which read Appendice 1, recorded that 'Carbon monoxide alarms get their own new Quebec subsection 2.1.6; the Régie's guide says they follow the manufacturer's instructions rather than a code interval.' That is enough to say the duty exists and that no code cycle attaches to it. It is NOT enough to say which buildings are caught or what the alarms must be, and neither the earlier pass nor this one read the subsection article by article. LegisQuebec was blocked by the egress proxy on this pass. An interval keyed to the manufacturer's instructions is not an interval set by law, so the grade is not_a_legal_frequency and the correct output is a blank date.
- Carbon monoxide alarmsADDED in the gap pass. I read articles 359 and 360 in full. They require the alarms to exist and to meet a standard, and set no test, inspection or replacement interval — unlike article 358, which does set one for smoke alarms. So no carbon monoxide date may be printed.
- Certificate of employment on the employee's requestI read art. » The duty is triggered by the employee's request and the article sets NO time limit for issuing it. A blank is the correct answer here; the product must not invent a turnaround time.
- Certificate of registration of a trademarkSection 40 was read in full on the Justice Canada consolidation. It reads: 'When an application for the registration of a trademark either has not been opposed and the time for the filing of a statement of opposition has expired, or has been opposed and the opposition has been decided in favour of the applicant, the Registrar shall register the trademark in the name of the applicant and issue a certificate of its registration or, if an appeal is taken, shall act in accordance with the final judgment given in the appeal.' It sets no repeating interval. The certificate is issued once.
- Check that every resident is safe after a fire alarmDowngraded from the source list. I read article 21.2 and it says what was claimed, but it prescribes no interval — the trigger is any fire alarm signal. Under the grading rule, a duty with no interval is not_a_legal_frequency, whatever the quality of the reading.
- Civil and professional liability insuranceI read article 14 and Annexe II. They set minimum AMOUNTS and a duty to « contracter et maintenir » cover. They set no renewal interval. Policies are commonly annual, but that is the insurer's cycle, not a legal frequency, so no date should be printed.
- Class A ground-fault protection for pool equipment, spas and bathroom receptaclesADDED IN THE GAP PASS. I read art. 22 verbatim in the CanLII consolidation, all five paragraphs: a class A ground-fault circuit interrupter must protect electrical equipment immersed in pool water; an audio-frequency amplifier connected to loudspeakers submerged in a pool; electrical equipment within 3 m of the inside walls of a pool that is not separated from it by a wall, partition or fence; a spa, a hot tub or a whirlpool bath; and a receptacle in a bathroom installed less than 1.5 m from the bath or shower stall, with two exceptions - a receptacle combined with an isolating transformer, and the washing machine receptacle when it is on the wall behind the machine at not more than 600 mm from the floor. The article states a permanent condition and no cycle, so the interval is blank.
- Code of ethicsDowngraded from the source list. I read article 36 in full, all five of its minimum content items and its four paragraphs. The code must be adopted, enforced, signed for and posted, but the regulation sets no revision cycle. A duty with no interval is not_a_legal_frequency.
- Commercial or charitable prospecting: identify yourself and offer the way outNEW IN THIS PASS. I read article 22 in the consolidated French text. It sets two content requirements on each approach and an immediate consequence once consent is withdrawn. There is no number of days and no cycle.
- Committee registers of accidents, occupational diseases and near missesI read art. 78. Paragraph 7° makes keeping the registers one of the committee's functions: « de tenir des registres des accidents du travail, des maladies professionnelles et des événements qui auraient pu en causer ». The article sets no cycle, no closing date and no retention period.
- Comply with an Office quebecois de la langue francaise order by the date the Office setsArticle 177 was read in full in French and it deliberately leaves the deadline open: 'Lorsque l'Office constate un manquement aux dispositions de la presente loi ou d'un reglement pris pour son application, il peut ordonner a celui qui en est l'auteur de s'y conformer ou de cesser d'y contrevenir, dans le delai indique par l'Office.' The deadline is set case by case by the regulator, not by the instrument, so there is no interval to read and the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency.
- Consumer contracts in FrenchThe previous pass read s. 26 of the Consumer Protection Act, s. 55 of the Charter and art. 1379 of the Civil Code. They govern the language of the document; none sets any timing.
A bond given without a term has no renewal date in the regulation. Ending it takes at least 60 days' written notice to the Régie.
- Control measures and replacement measures: recordsDowngraded from the source list. I read articles 54, 55 and 56 in full. They are triggered by the use of a control or replacement measure and prescribe no interval.
- Copy of a government identity document for each directorI re-opened art. 68.1 and read it word for word. It attaches the duty to each declaration or update about directors and sets no period of its own: «L'assujetti doit fournir, à l'égard de chacun de ses administrateurs, une copie d'une pièce d'identité émise par une autorité gouvernementale à l'appui de toute déclaration ou mise à jour des informations relatives à ceux-ci.»
- Corporate name on commercial paper, contracts, invoices and ordersI read art. It is a standing requirement with no period.
- Credentials from elsewhere in Canada count in QuebecRead and quoted verbatim on 17 September 2026. It is a recognition rule with no timing element at all.
- Criminal background checks on staff and volunteersDowngraded from the source list. I read articles 30 to 34 in full. The trigger is a person entering into function, plus the two re-verification triggers in article 32 (the person is charged or convicted; or the operator or the public health body requires it). No recurring interval is prescribed anywhere, so no renewal date may be printed and the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency.
It sets no recurring interval.
- Data portability: give a person back their computerised information in a usable formatArticle 27's third paragraph sets no timing of its own. The 30-day figure comes from art. 32 and is recorded under that entry, not invented here.
- Declaration of co-ownership and by-laws of the immovableI read arts. 1038, 1052, 1053, 1059 and 1060. The Code requires the declaration to exist, to be notarial and en minute, and to be published, and requires amendments to be published or deposited, but sets no cycle for reviewing or restating it.
- Declare a biometric identity-verification system to the regulator, and get express consentI re-read article 44 in the consolidated French text in this pass. It says « sans l'avoir divulgué préalablement à la Commission d'accès à l'information » with no number of days. The 60-day figure belongs to article 45 and only to the creation of a bank.
- Declaring bankruptcy in the enterprise registerI read art. It sets no number of days.
- Description of the private portionsI read the third paragraph of art. Neither that paragraph nor anything else I read sets a cycle for redoing or updating it.
- Designating and posting the staff responsible for health and safetyI read art. 51. It sets no review, re-posting or renewal cycle.
- Director's or officer's disclosure of an interest, recorded in the board minutesI read arts. 122 to 126 and 130 in full. «Dès qu'il en a connaissance» is a standard of promptness tied to a meeting, not a number of days, so there is no interval to print. Art. 125 is the same shape for an officer: on appointment, as soon as they learn the contract has been or will be discussed at a board meeting, or as soon as they or a related person acquire an interest in a contract already made.
- Driver's licence class for the vehicle actually drivenThe interval here is none prescribed, which is a not_a_legal_frequency answer; confirmed is reserved for an interval read in a primary source. The underlying articles are confirmed: article 28 lists classes 1, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, 5, 6A, 6B, 6C, 6D, 6E and 8 and states that, subject to article 29, they are mutually exclusive; article 28.1 defines class 1 as tractor and trailer or semi-trailer combinations; article 28.2: «La classe 2 autorise la conduite d'un autobus aménagé pour le transport de plus de 24 passagers à la fois.» The duty to hold the right class is continuous, with no cycle.
- Duty to trace the ultimate beneficiaries and verify who they areI re-opened art. It sets no period and prescribes no form of record.
- Each co-owner's own liability insuranceI read Civil Code art. 1 of the regulation. The duty is a standing one; the regulation sets the minimum amount, not a cycle.
- Electrical installation kept in good working and safe conditionADDED IN THE GAP PASS. I read art. No cycle, so the interval is blank.
- Elevator documents kept on siteI read arts. 93 and 94 in full. No cycle is set.
- Elevator documents kept on site; platform lift maintenance registerI read arts. 93 and 94 verbatim. They set what must be kept and where, and art. 94 forbids entering maintenance or repair work in the documents before the work is finished and the corrections made, but they set no cycle.
- Emergency procedures made known to staffDowngraded from the source list. I read article 22 and all four procedures in Annexe III in full. The duty is to make the procedures known and available; no interval is prescribed, and no periodic refresher date may be printed for them — unlike the fire safety plan training, which article 21.1 does make annual.
- Employment contract and hiring documents in FrenchThe previous pass read art. 41 in full in the consolidated Charter. It states duties that apply whenever a document is drawn up or a posting is made; it sets no cycle, no renewal and no review date. I did not re-open the Charter this pass and I have no reason to doubt the reading.
- Employment documents and job offers in FrenchI read all six articles. They state standing duties about the language of documents and about non-discrimination. None of them sets a review, renewal or re-translation cycle.
- Environmental qualification attestation for handling halocarbonsArticle 48 lists exactly what the attestation must contain for it to be valid: holder's name, date of issue, attestation number, trade if any, identity of the issuing authority, holder's signature and a set wording. There is no expiry date in that list. Articles 45 and 47 are both shown as «(Abrogé)». The regulation prescribes no renewal.
- Facade registerADDED ON THE GAP PASS. Art. 373 requires the information to be recorded 'pendant l'existence du bâtiment' and kept available on site for the Régie to consult. It sets no cycle. PROVENANCE: the verbatim reading is carried over from the commercial-buildings pass of this same project; LegisQuebec and CanLII were blocked by the egress proxy on this pass.
- Facade registerI read art. 373 verbatim. It requires the information to be recorded «pendant l'existence du bâtiment» and kept available on site for the Régie to consult. It sets no cycle.
- Façade registerI read art. 373 in full. It requires the information to be recorded 'Pendant l'existence du bâtiment' in a register or an annex to it, available on the premises for the Régie to consult. It sets no cycle of its own — it is a container for the five-yearly reports.
- Federal corporate name on contracts, invoices, negotiable instruments and ordersI read s. 10(5) in full: «A corporation shall set out its name in legible characters in all contracts, invoices, negotiable instruments and orders for goods or services issued or made by or on behalf of the corporation.» It is a standing requirement with no period.
- Federal corporate recordsI read s. 20 in full. Subsection (1) imposes a standing duty to prepare and maintain the records and sets no period. The only period in s. 20 is the six-year retention in s. 20(2.1), recorded separately.
- Federal director's or officer's disclosure of an interestI read s. 120 in full. Subsection (1) requires disclosure «in writing or by requesting to have it entered in the minutes of meetings of directors or of meetings of committees of directors». Subsections (2) and (3) fix the moment, not a length of time: for a director, «at the meeting at which a proposed contract or transaction is first considered» or «at the first meeting after he or she becomes so interested»; for an officer, «immediately after he or she becomes aware». There is no number of days to print.
- Federal register of individuals with significant controlI read s. 21.1(1) in the consolidated Act. It imposes a standing duty to prepare and maintain the register and sets no period. The timing rules live in s. 21.1(2) and (3), which are recorded separately.
- Fire detection and alarm systemI read article 346.1: « Malgré l'article 346, une résidence privée pour aînés doit être pourvue d'un système de détection et d'alarme incendie », with two exceptions. The article requires the system to exist and carries no in-force marker, so it is live. It sets no inspection interval itself.
- Fire detection and alarm system brought up to the 1995 code in older buildingsI read arts. 346 and 351 in full on CanLII. They set a standard the system must meet, not a date or a cycle.
- Fire safety planNo interval attaches to having a plan; the 12-month review is the separate entry below. The SCOPE is narrower than commonly assumed. Quebec's modification now in force (Appendice 1, in force 17 April 2025) REPLACES paragraph 1)a) with 'dans tout bâtiment contenant une clinique ambulatoire, un établissement de soins, de soins de type résidentiel, de traitement ou de détention ou une résidence privée pour aînés'. The assembly-occupancy trigger is gone from paragraph a). What Quebec puts in its place, at paragraph 1)f), is 'dans tout bâtiment muni d'un système d'alarme incendie, qu'il soit exigé ou installé volontairement'. The unmodified paragraphs b), c), d) and g) of 2.8.1.1(1) could not be read because the National Fire Code 2020 base text is not freely readable, so it cannot be sworn that no other paragraph catches assembly occupancies. The Quebec text of 2.8.1.2(4)(b) cross-refers to 'les mesures à prendre en cas d'incendie visées au paragraphe 2.8.2.1. 3)', so the emergency procedures sit at 2.8.2.1(3) in the 2020 edition, not 2.8.2.1(1). UNCHANGED ON THIS PASS.
- Fire safety planI read art. 2.8.1.1. and art. 2.8.2.1. 1) word for word in the consolidated 2020 text. The duty is clear and neither provision sets a cycle for the plan itself. The review cycle is a separate line below.
- Fire safety planI read article 21 of the Regulation in full. It requires the plan to be established and « maintenu à jour », and requires the operator to « vérifier continuellement » the accuracy of the resident list, but it fixes no review date. I also read the Safety Code's Appendice 1 modification to CNPI 2.8.1.1, which replaces subparagraph 1)a) so that a fire safety plan is mandatory « dans tout bâtiment contenant ... une résidence privée pour aînés ». Neither sets a review interval.
- Fire separations between floors and around dwellings in older buildingsI read arts. 361 to 365 in full on CanLII. They set fire-resistance ratings and closure requirements. No article in this group sets an inspection cycle.
- First aid kits, the first aider poster, and the first aid registerADDED ON THE GAP PASS. Art. 6: the employer must ensure every kit is kept clean, complete and in good condition - a standing duty with no inspection cycle set. Art. 15 requires the first aider's report to be handed to the employer and kept in a register kept for that purpose, again with no cycle. Note that a sibling unit of this project holds a frozen 'quarterly first aid kit audit' item; nothing in this regulation sets a quarterly cycle, and that discrepancy is recorded in the conflicts section rather than resolved here. PROVENANCE: the verbatim readings are carried over from the commercial-buildings and restaurant passes of this same project; LegisQuebec and CanLII were blocked by the egress proxy on this pass.
- First aid kits, the first aider poster, and the first aid registerI read all of these verbatim. Art. 6: the employer must ensure every kit is kept clean, complete and in good condition – a standing duty with no inspection cycle set. Art. 15 requires the first aider's report to be handed to the employer and kept in a register kept for that purpose, again with no cycle.
- First aiders on siteArt. 3 is a staffing rule — how many first aiders must be present at any time during working hours — not a cycle. I read it in the official consolidated text (à jour au 15 avril 2026). The only genuine interval in this regulation is the three-year validity of the first aid certificate, recorded separately.
- Food establishment manager training - twelve hours and an examRead in full on 17 September 2026. It fixes a minimum of twelve hours, lists four subjects on top of those at article 2.2.4.4, and issues the attestation on a score of at least 60%. No recurrence, no expiry, no refresher is prescribed.
- Food handler training - six hours and an examRead in full on 17 September 2026. It fixes a minimum duration of six hours, lists exactly eight subjects, and issues the attestation on a score of at least 60%. It sets no recurrence and no expiry. The six hours is a course length, not an interval, so it must never be printed as a frequency.
- Food kept at the temperatures the regulation setsArticle 1.4.1 was read word for word on this pass. Second paragraph: heat-sensitive product other than whole fresh fruit and vegetables must be cooled without delay and kept constantly at an internal and ambient temperature not exceeding 4 ºC until delivery to the consumer. Third paragraph: for a frozen product the internal and ambient temperature must be at most -18 ºC. These are standing states, not cycles. The regulation was searched for a temperature-recording or temperature-checking frequency and none exists.
- Forklift operator trainingArticle 256.3 sets out exactly what the training must cover - basic notions about forklifts, the work environment and its effect on driving one, driving, and safety rules and measures - and requires practical training under an instructor's supervision, first outside the area reserved for normal operations where possible and then completed in the usual work area. It sets no refresher period at all.
- Franchise agreement - no Quebec disclosure lawThere is no Quebec franchise statute to cite, so there is no section that could set a frequency. The previous pass read arts 1375, 1379, 1435, 1436 and 1437, which are the general rules that do the work instead; none sets any timing.
- Francisation committeeArt. 136 requires the committee to exist but sets no meeting frequency and no renewal cycle for the committee. Art. 137, third paragraph, does set a maximum term for the worker representatives — « Les représentants des travailleurs sont désignés pour une période d'au plus deux ans. Toutefois, leur mandat peut être renouvelé. » — but that is a ceiling on a term, not a cycle the law makes recur, so the product should treat it as a maximum rather than a due date.
- Francization committee and the list of its membersI read arts. 136 to 138 word for word. Neither sets a deadline for setting the committee up or for sending the list. Art. 137 contains the only period in this group - «Les représentants des travailleurs sont désignés pour une période d'au plus deux ans» - but that is a maximum length for someone's term, not a duty falling due, so it must not be printed as a two-year cycle.
- French on public signs and commercial advertisingGRADE ALIGNED TO THE TAXONOMY. An earlier draft graded this confirmed while carrying a blank interval, which is internally inconsistent: under the grading rules, confirmed is a promise about an INTERVAL, and an instrument that imposes a duty but sets no interval is not_a_legal_frequency. The substance is unchanged and is fully read. I read every cited article of the regulation verbatim. Art. 27.6, first paragraph: French has a much greater visual impact when, in the same visual field, «l'espace consacré au texte rédigé en français est au moins 2 fois plus grand que celui consacré au texte rédigé dans une autre langue» and its legibility and permanent visibility are at least equivalent. Art. 27.7: the sign must be accompanied by French terms – notably a generic, a descriptive of the products or services, or a slogan. These are continuous obligations, not dated ones.
- Gas installation used and maintained per the manufacturer's instructions and kept safeADDED IN THE GAP PASS. I read both articles verbatim in the CanLII consolidation. Article 30 hands the interval to the manufacturer, which means it comes off the appliance rather than out of a statute, so nothing goes in the interval field.
- Gift card and prepaid card rulesI read arts. 187.1 to 187.5 verbatim in the consolidated French text and the numbering and substance are correct. The sections impose duties triggered by selling or by a customer's request, not on any cycle.
- Gift cards and loyalty points: the terms the law imposesI opened the consolidated Act and read ss. 187.1 to 187.9 this pass. They forbid an expiry and impose disclosure; they do not set any period, cycle or deadline. The one place a period could hide - s. 187.3 - does the opposite: it forbids a stipulation that the card «peut être périmée à une date déterminée ou par l'écoulement du temps».
- Grease trap — maintenanceNo province-wide mandated frequency. The 25% rule is not law. The regulation requires maintenance; the service record is the evidence.
- Guard or alarm-response services must be supplied by a permit holderI read arts. 1, 2, 4 and 16 verbatim. Art. 16 first paragraph requires an agent permit of the natural person performing the activity and of his immediate supervisor. No article sets a cycle.
- Guard or alarm-response services must come from a permit holderADDED ON THE GAP PASS, because a hall that hires door staff for weddings and events is squarely in this statute's path and the earlier list said nothing about it. Art. 16, first paragraph, requires an agent permit of the natural person performing the activity and of his immediate supervisor. No article sets a cycle. PROVENANCE: the verbatim readings are carried over from the commercial-buildings pass of this same project; LegisQuebec and CanLII were blocked by the egress proxy on this pass.
- Halocarbon label on the refrigeration or air conditioning unitADDED ON THE GAP PASS. Art. 17.1 requires the label and says what goes on it, but sets no cycle - the third item is simply 'la date de la dernière modification apportée quant au contenu en halocarbure'. PROVENANCE: the verbatim reading is carried over from the commercial-buildings pass of this same project; LegisQuebec and CanLII were blocked by the egress proxy on this pass.
- Halocarbon label on the refrigeration or air conditioning unitI read art. 17.1 verbatim. It requires the label and says what goes on it, but sets no cycle – the third item is simply «la date de la dernière modification apportée quant au contenu en halocarbure».
- Halocarbon service records - the copy the owner must be given and must keepADDED ON THE GAP PASS. Arts. 59 and 60 set retention periods of at least 5 years, not a cycle, so there is no legal frequency here. PROVENANCE: the verbatim readings are carried over from the commercial-buildings pass of this same project; LegisQuebec and CanLII were blocked by the egress proxy on this pass.
- Halocarbon service records – the copy the owner must be given and must keepI read arts. 59 and 60 verbatim. Art. 60 sets retention periods of at least 5 years, not a cycle, so there is no legal frequency here.
- Handing employees the CNESST's labour standards information documentsI read art. » It is a standing duty attached to whatever the CNESST supplies. No cycle, no renewal date, no posting period.
- Handing the premises back at the end of the lease, and the description that decides who paysI read arts 1889, 1890 and 1891 in the consolidated Code. They fix what is owed at the end of the lease. None of them sets a date, a notice period or a cycle, and none of them requires the description or the photographs to be made at all - they only say what happens if there are none.
- Hazardous product labels, safety data sheets in French, and the training programmeADDED ON THE GAP PASS. Art. 62.1: an employer may not permit the use, handling or storage of a hazardous product 'à moins qu'il ne soit pourvu d'une étiquette et d'une fiche de données de sécurité' and that the exposed worker has had the required training. Art. 62.6, paragraph 2: the employer must 'conserver et rendre facilement accessible à tout travailleur, sur le lieu de travail, la fiche de données de sécurité'. None of these articles sets a cycle, so the interval is blank. PROVENANCE: the verbatim readings are carried over from the commercial-buildings and restaurant passes of this same project; LegisQuebec and CanLII were blocked by the egress proxy on this pass.
- Hazardous product labels, safety data sheets in French, and the training programmeNEW LINE. I read all four articles verbatim. Art. 62.1: an employer may not permit the use, handling or storage of a hazardous product «à moins qu'il ne soit pourvu d'une étiquette et d'une fiche de données de sécurité» and that the exposed worker has had the required training. Art. 62.6 2°: the employer must «conserver et rendre facilement accessible à tout travailleur, sur le lieu de travail, la fiche de données de sécurité». None of them sets a cycle, so the interval is blank.
- Head office permanently in Quebec, and declaring any moveI read art. A standing requirement with no period. I read art. 30, whose third paragraph sends the declaration duty to the Act respecting the legal publicity of enterprises; the 30-day clock comes from LPLE art. 41 and is recorded on the current updating declaration row, not here.
- Health and safety committee minutes — adoption and five-year retentionArt. 29 sets a retention floor, not a cycle. The number in it — at least five years — is a keep-for period and must be printed as one, never as a recurring date.
- Help-call system available to every residentDowngraded from the source list. I read article 15 in full, including the rules for fixed and mobile systems and the written-refusal mechanism. The operator « doit toutefois s'assurer que le système demeure en tout temps fonctionnel » — an ongoing duty with no testing interval prescribed. No periodic test date may be printed.
- Higher minimum automobile liability insurance for heavy vehicles and dangerous goodsThe two dollar figures are confirmed, including the cross-reference to Title VIII.1 of the Highway Safety Code (chapitre C-24.2) and to Schedule 1, column 7, of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations. But the article sets amounts, not an interval, and the interval field reads 'none prescribed', so not_a_legal_frequency is the correct grade.
It is a standing prohibition. The recurring date lives in the licence maintenance rule, not here.
- Home kitchen operators must personally hold the manager attestationThe underlying duty at article 2.2.4.1, read verbatim, sets no interval. That the operator of a home kitchen must PERSONALLY hold the credential comes from the Quebec.ca permit page rather than from a distinct article - I searched the regulation for 'cuisine domestique' on 17 September 2026 and there is exactly ONE match, article 1.4.4, which regulates where preparation may happen, not who must hold the attestation. So this remains article 2.2.4.1 applied to a one-person business, where the operator is necessarily the person in charge of hygiene.
- Housekeeping, and safe storage of cleaning, flammable and toxic productsADDED in the gap pass. » The word is « régulièrement » and nothing more — no number, so no date.
- If you read a credit report about someone, tell them about their rights at the credit agencyNEW IN THIS PASS. I read articles 19 and 19.1 in the consolidated French text. Both are triggered by an act — reading a report, or contracting — and neither states a period or a cycle.
- Incident and accident disclosure, declaration procedure and registerDowngraded from the source list. I read article 50 in full, including the definitions of « accident » and « incident » in its final paragraph. The trigger is the incident or accident itself; no interval is prescribed.
- Information to give the person when you collect their personal informationArticle 8 is triggered by each collection and by each later request; there is no cycle and no deadline.
- Integrated testing of fire protection and life safety systemsThe adopting article is now confirmed word for word, which it was not before: «Les interconnexions entre les systèmes de protection contre l'incendie et les systèmes de sécurité des personnes doivent être mises à l'essai et entretenues conformément à la norme CAN/ULC-S1001.» So the duty is certain. The code sets no repeat interval, and CAN/ULC-S1001 is sold by Underwriters Laboratories of Canada. No free authoritative source states a cycle. I am not going to invent one.
- Keep control over anyone else who uses your trademarkSection 50 was read in full and verbatim on the Justice Canada consolidation (page last modified 11 September 2026). Section 50(1): 'For the purposes of this Act, if an entity is licensed by or with the authority of the owner of a trademark to use the trademark in a country and the owner has, under the licence, direct or indirect control of the character or quality of the goods or services, then the use, advertisement or display of the trademark in that country as or in a trademark, trade name or otherwise by that entity has, and is deemed always to have had, the same effect as such a use, advertisement or display of the trademark in that country by the owner.' It is a standing condition attached to licensed use. It sets no interval of any kind, so the grade is not_a_legal_frequency.
- Keep the food hygiene training register on the premisesRead in full and quoted verbatim above on 17 September 2026. The first paragraph sets no filing date, no submission cycle and no review frequency. The only figure in the article is a retention period, recorded as a separate obligation below.
- Keeping the residence, the grounds and the personal assistance equipment in good conditionADDED in the gap pass. » The word is « rapidement » — a promptness rule, not a frequency.
- Letting health and social services professionals reach residents at any timeADDED in the gap pass. » Standing duty, no interval.
- Letting residents receive visitors at any time, and letting in the service providers they chooseADDED in the gap pass. » Both are standing duties with no interval.
No refresher period appears.
- Low-rental housing: register of rental applications and eligibility list kept up to dateADDED IN THE GAP PASS. I read art. The Code says "kept up to date" and sets no cycle; the actual mechanics are in the Société's regulations, which I did not read, so no interval is claimed.
- Mandatory reporting of maltreatmentDowngraded from the source list on the grade only. I read article 21 in full and it says what was claimed, but « sans délai » is a promptness rule triggered by forming reasonable grounds; it is not a frequency and no date can be computed from it, so the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency. The reading itself is confirmed: paragraph 5 of the first paragraph covers « toute autre personne en situation de vulnérabilité qui réside dans une résidence privée pour aînés », and the definition of « prestataire de services de santé et de services sociaux » in article 2 expressly includes « l'exploitant ou le responsable de la résidence ».
- MAPAQ food hygiene attestation does not expire - there is no renewalRe-read a third time, independently, against the consolidated French text of the whole regulation (current to 2026-04-01, version as published 2026-08-28) on 17 September 2026. Every article from 2.2.4.1 to 2.2.4.9 was extracted and read. The two issuing provisions say only that an attestation is delivered to a person who scores at least 60% on the exam set by the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire du Quebec. No article states a term, an expiry, a renewal or a refresher. I separately re-fetched the Quebec.ca food handler page (last updated 28 August 2025) and confirmed the sentence verbatim: 'L'attestation est delivree a la personne ayant suivi la formation et non a son employeur. Because no instrument sets a frequency, the honest answer is that there is no clock, not that the clock is long.
- Medication management rules and the ban on supplying medicationDowngraded from the source list. I read article 49 (« L'exploitant d'une résidence privée pour aînés ne peut fournir, de quelque manière que ce soit, même à titre gratuit, un médicament à un résident ») and article 14.2 in full. Both are ongoing duties with no prescribed cycle, so the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency.
- Menus, posted menu grid and meal historyDowngraded from the source list. I read article 53. The menu grid must be « tenue à jour » and posted, and the meal history « conservée », but no interval or retention period is given. The only timing rule is that a posted meal may be changed provided residents are told on the day before the meal was to be served.
- Minimum staff presence for supervisionDowngraded from the source list. I read articles 16 to 20.3 in full. They set headcounts and qualification mixes, not dates. The only timing rule anywhere in them is in article 20.2 al. 3: where the operator excludes vacant units to drop to a lower headcount, the reduction cannot take effect earlier than 10 days after the written notice reaches the public health body. That is a notice period, not a frequency.
- Mobile first aid kitsI read article 47, both paragraphs. It requires the kits to exist, to be in good condition and to be easy to reach, and the contents to suit the number and types of residents, but sets no inspection or restocking interval. A kit-check schedule is good practice, not a legal date.
- No-smoking signs and the nine-metre ruleADDED ON THE GAP PASS. Art. 10: the operator 'doit indiquer au moyen d'affiches installées à la vue des personnes qui fréquentent ce lieu ou ce commerce les endroits où il est interdit de fumer', and its second paragraph forbids removing or altering such a sign. It sets no cycle. PROVENANCE: the verbatim readings are carried over from the commercial-buildings and restaurant passes of this same project, which agree; LegisQuebec and CanLII were blocked by the egress proxy on this pass.
- No-smoking signs in the common areas of any building with two or more dwellingsADDED IN THE GAP PASS. This was missing from the register entirely. I read the three articles verbatim in the CanLII consolidation. None of the three sets a frequency, so the interval is blank.
- No-smoking signs in the premisesI read art. 10 verbatim: the operator «doit indiquer au moyen d'affiches installées à la vue des personnes qui fréquentent ce lieu ou ce commerce les endroits où il est interdit de fumer», and its second paragraph forbids removing or altering such a sign. It sets no cycle.
- Non-compete clause - what makes it validI re-read art. 2089 word for word this pass. It requires the clause to be «limitée, quant au temps, au lieu et au genre de travail, à ce qui est nécessaire pour protéger les intérêts légitimes de l'employeur». It names no number of months or years. Any figure in the register would be invented.
- Notice when a resident's condition changesDowngraded from the source list. I read article 51. It is triggered by observation of one of three listed states, with no interval and no deadline stated.
- Occupant load calculationThe full Quebec replacement text of art. 2.7.1.3 and Table 2.7.1.3 was read in the official consolidated Code de sécurité. The article prescribes how to calculate and forbids exceeding the result but sets no interval for redoing the calculation; it is re-triggered by a change of layout or use, not by a date. So 'none prescribed' is correct and is confirmed against the primary in-force text rather than inferred.
- Onboarding and job-integration process for new staffDowngraded from the source list. I read article 27.1. The trigger is a new staff member entering into function, and the deadline is « dans un délai raisonnable suivant son entrée en fonction » — no fixed number of days, no recurrence, nothing a date can be computed from.
- Option 2 - have at least 10% of the relevant staff certifiedRead verbatim and quoted in full above on 17 September 2026. It sets a proportion of staff, not a frequency. Nothing in the article says how often the proportion must be recalculated or reviewed.
- Overhead crane operator trainingArticle 254.1 lists six required theoretical subjects, requires the practical training to cover those same six, to be done in the workplace under conditions that do not expose the operator or other workers to danger, and to be «d'une durée suffisante pour permettre une utilisation sécuritaire». It prescribes no refresher cycle.
- Parking garage registerI read art. 387 in full. It requires the register to be kept 'Pendant l'existence du parc de stationnement', available on the premises for the Régie to consult. It sets no cycle of its own.
- Parking structure registerADDED ON THE GAP PASS. Art. 387 requires the file 'pendant l'existence du parc de stationnement', available on site for the Régie, and sets no cycle. PROVENANCE: carried over from the commercial-buildings pass of this same project; LegisQuebec and CanLII were blocked by the egress proxy on this pass.
- Parking structure registerI read art. 387 verbatim. It requires the file «pendant l'existence du parc de stationnement», available on site for the Régie, and sets no cycle.
- Partnership agreement - no law makes you write one downThe previous pass read arts 2186 to 2191. They define the partnership, say when it comes into existence and send the partners to another Act to register. None of them requires a writing and none of them sets a cycle or a deadline.
- Pay equity — keeping the maintenance records for six yearsArt. 76.8 sets a retention floor, not a cycle. The number in it — six years from the second maintenance posting — is a keep-for period and must be printed as one.
- Payroll records kept six years for employment insuranceSection 87 sets a retention floor, not a cycle. » Six years from the end of the year is a keep-for period and must be printed as one, never as a due date.
- Person in charge of personal information and confidentiality incident registerThe Act was read in its official consolidated form (current to 7 April 2026). There is no interval, so the grade is not_a_legal_frequency.
- Person in charge of the protection of personal informationI read art. It imposes a standing duty and a publication duty, and sets no cycle.
- Person in charge of the protection of personal information, named and publishedI opened the Act on CanLII and read art. It is a standing duty with no period and no renewal.
- Personal information about a child under 14 needs a parent's consentNEW IN THIS PASS. I read article 4.1 in the consolidated French text. It is a condition on a collection, triggered by that collection, with no timing of any kind.
- Personal information governance policiesI read art. 3.2 in full. It requires the policies to be established, implemented, proportionate to the nature and scale of the enterprise's activities, approved by the person in charge of the protection of personal information, and published in simple and clear terms on the enterprise's website or otherwise made accessible. It sets no review cycle.
- Personal information governance policies, established and publishedI read art. The Act sets no review cycle and no renewal date.
- Pests, vermin, bed bugs and mouldADDED IN THE GAP PASS as a deliberate blank, because the scope for this unit asked about pest control and mould by name and a founder will look for them by name. I read arts. 1910, 1911, 1912 and 1913 verbatim in the CanLII consolidation. Article 1910 requires delivery and maintenance in good habitable condition; art. 1911 requires delivery in a clean state; art. 1913 bars offering or delivering a dwelling unfit for habitation, defined in its second paragraph as one whose condition is a serious danger to the health or safety of the occupants or the public, or one declared unfit by the tribunal or the competent authority. None of them sets a cycle, and no cycle appears anywhere in the Safety Code chapters I read. Any recurring extermination or mould inspection date under this heading would be invented.
- Petroleum equipment registerADDED ON THE GAP PASS. Art. 114 sets retention periods (life of the equipment, at least 10 years, at least 2 years) but no cycle for the register itself. PROVENANCE: the verbatim reading is carried over from the commercial-buildings pass of this same project; LegisQuebec and CanLII were blocked by the egress proxy on this pass.
- Petroleum equipment registerI read art. 114 verbatim. It sets retention periods (life of the equipment, at least 10 years, at least 2 years) but no cycle for the register itself.
- Plumbing installation kept in good working, safe and sanitary conditionADDED IN THE GAP PASS. The register carried Chapter VIII of the Safety Code in depth but nothing at all from Chapters I, II and III, which reach buildings that Chapter VIII exempts. I read art. It is a standing duty with no cycle in it, so the interval is blank. I read every article of Chapter I and none of arts. 2 to 6 sets a frequency.
- Poster naming the first aidersArt. 14 sets what must be on the poster and where it goes. I read it. It sets no renewal or re-posting cycle.
- Posting of the fire emergency proceduresNo instrument sets a cycle for replacing or re-checking a posted notice, so the grade is right. But the CITATION is downgraded. Quebec's Appendice 1 does not touch art. 2.8.2.7 at all, so the operative text is the National Fire Code 2020 base text, which is not freely readable. There is direct evidence that 2.8.2.x numbering shifted between the 2010 and 2020 editions - the fire service's copy of the plan moved from 2.8.2.5 to 2.8.2.12 - so '2.8.2.7' should not be printed as the article until someone opens the 2020 code. The rooming-house change findable in Appendice 1 is to art.
- Posting the authorization document where the public can see itADDED in the gap pass. I read article 568 in the consolidated text: « Le titulaire d'une autorisation doit s'assurer que le document qui atteste cette autorisation est affiché à la vue du public dans tout lieu d'exploitation autorisé. » It is a standing duty with no interval, so the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency.
- Premises kept free of insects and rodentsArticle 2.1.2, first paragraph, read again word for word on this pass: 'Le lieu ou le véhicule doit être exempt de contaminants, de polluants, de toute espèce d'animaux y compris les insectes et les rongeurs ou de leurs excréments.' It imposes a result, not a schedule. The whole regulation was searched for a pest-control interval and for any required pest-control report; neither exists.
- Pressure installation registerStill not_a_legal_frequency and still continuous: the three new paragraphs add contents, not a cycle.
- Pressure installation registerGrade stays not_a_legal_frequency. The amendment lengthens the list of documents the register must hold and sets no cycle, so nothing in the instrument creates a frequency.
- Pressure installation registerArticle 82 still requires the register « Pendant l’existence de l’installation sous pression » and prescribes no cycle. Décret 1056-2026 only lengthens the list of what goes in it.
- Price accuracy policy – the sign at the cashI read arts. 1, 2 and 4 verbatim. They set what the policy must offer and exactly how it must be posted, but no cycle.
- Privacy impact assessment before an information system projectArticle 3.3 is triggered by a project, not by a calendar. Its four paragraphs set a duty, a consultation requirement, a build requirement and a proportionality test, and no deadline or repeat cycle.
- Privacy officer: designate one, and publish their title and contact detailsThe article says exactly what is claimed, and it sets no frequency of any kind. Under the grading rule, confirmed is a promise about an interval; where the instrument imposes a duty and prescribes no interval the correct grade is not_a_legal_frequency. Nothing about the duty is in doubt — only the idea that anything here recurs.
- Privacy policy published on the websiteThe article says what is claimed, but it sets no review cycle and no update frequency. Where the interval is 'none prescribed' the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency; confirmed is reserved for a number actually read in a primary source.
- Professional activities carried out only by members in good standing of the relevant professional orderADDED in the gap pass. » It is a standing duty with no interval.
- Professional's attestation that the building meets the Safety CodeDowngraded from the source list. I read article 11, paragraph 12 and it says exactly what the source list quoted, but it fixes no frequency, and a grade of confirmed on a blank interval is a promise about a number that does not exist. The duty is real; the timing is not set.
- Proof of consent for electronic messages: you carry the burden, but no retention period is setSection 13 reads: "A person who alleges that they have consent to do an act that would otherwise be prohibited under any of sections 6 to 8 has the onus of proving it." It sets no retention period, and nothing in the Act or the CRTC Regulations prescribes how long a consent record must be kept. The 2-year figure at s. 10(10)(a) and the 6-month figure at s. 10(10)(e) are confirmed, but they define when implied consent exists, not how long paper must be kept.
That is a condition measured over a 14 month look back, not a recurring date of its own. The recurring date is the 1 year expiry in article 5.
- Property and liability insurance held by the syndicateI read art. 1073 in full and art. 4 of the regulation in full. Article 1073 imposes a standing duty to hold insurance. Neither the Code nor the regulation sets a renewal cycle — annual renewal is a market practice, not a legal interval. The separate five-yearly appraisal inside the first paragraph of art. 1073 is recorded as its own line.
- Property tax exemption for a place of worshipArt. 204 was read in the official consolidated Act (current to 7 April 2026). No cycle attaches to the exemption, so the grade is not_a_legal_frequency rather than verify.
- Psychological harassment prevention and complaint-handling policyI opened the consolidated French text of art. 81.19 (CanLII version current to 7 April 2026) and read it word for word. It requires the policy to exist, to be made available, and to contain seven listed things. No paragraph sets a review, renewal or re-signing cycle. The only number in the article is a document-retention floor of at least two years, which is a keep-for period and not a due date.
- Put a certified food establishment manager in charge of hygiene and sanitationRe-read verbatim in the consolidated French text on 17 September 2026 and quoted in full above. It is a standing duty with no date, no cycle and no review period. The only thing that changes it is the person leaving.
- Qualification of personal assistance attendants before starting workDowngraded from the source list. I read article 29 in full, including the definition that one year of full-time experience means 1,664 paid hours of work. The trigger is entry into function; there is no recurrence and no interval, so the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency.
- Re-check anonymised information periodically — but the law leaves the period to youNEW IN THIS PASS, and this is the single most tempting place in the whole unit to invent a number. The regulation says « périodiquement » and then says, in its third paragraph, that the periodicity is determined by the residual risks identified in the last analysis and by the factors in article 7. No figure appears anywhere. Any annual, three-yearly or five-yearly date printed against this article would be fabricated. Shape is recorded as continuous rather than recurring precisely because there is no N to recur on.
- Recreational and social activities, with a posted calendarADDED in the gap pass. » It requires a calendar but sets no interval for it — not weekly, not monthly, nothing. So no date may be printed and the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency.
The register must exist and be kept up as events happen; the Act sets no cycle for reviewing it.
- Register of anonymisationsNEW IN THIS PASS. I read article 9 in full. It lists four contents and stops. There is no retention period, in contrast with article 8 of the confidentiality incidents regulation, which does set five years. Printing five years here by analogy would be inventing a rule.
- Register of confidentiality incidentsI read art. It sets no period. Art. 3.5, which I also read in full, requires the Commission and the people affected to be notified «avec diligence» where the incident presents a risk of serious injury - a standard of promptness, not a number of days, so there is no interval to print there either.
- Register of confidentiality incidentsI read art. No cycle is set.
- Register of first aid givenThe duty is triggered each time first aid is given. I read art. 15 and it sets no cycle and — worth noting — no retention period either, so no keep-for figure can be printed against this item.
- Register of work accidentsArt. 280 is triggered by an accident. I read it in the consolidated French text. It sets no periodic review, no closing date and no retention period.
- Register of work accidents that did not stop the worker workingNEW LINE. I read art. The duty is triggered by an accident, not by a cycle.
- Register or recording system of employeesI read the whole Regulation in the official consolidated text — it is three pages long. Art. 1 sets what the register must contain and art. 2 sets how long it must be kept. Neither sets a review, audit or renewal cycle, so there is no date to print — only a keep-for figure of three years.
- Registering (publishing) the commercial lease in the land registerI re-read arts 1852 and 1886 word for word this pass. Article 1852 para. 1 says rights under a lease «peuvent être publiés» - may be published. Nothing makes it compulsory for an immovable lease and nothing sets a date. Article 1887 sets a 12-month clock and a six-month notice, but those bind the buyer of the building, not this business, so they are not a frequency for the register.
- Registration for the retail sale of tobacco productsRevenu Québec's own page states that no permit is required for retail sale under the Tobacco Tax Act but that a registration certificate in the Quebec sales tax file for retail tobacco sale is required. I did not locate the enabling section of the Act. The citation is therefore incomplete and this line fails the rule that every obligation must carry an exact section number.
- Registry information about the residenceDowngraded and reframed. I read article 7 in full. It is drafted as a duty on the public body — « un centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux doit recueillir et mettre à jour les renseignements suivants aux fins de la constitution et de la tenue du registre » — not as a duty on the operator, and it contains no interval. The source list graded it confirmed and shaped it continuous, which reads as an ongoing operator duty. It is not one. The operator's own filing date is the 31 March declaration under G-1.021 art. 610, recorded separately.
- Renewal file and self-assessment formDowngraded from the source list. I read article 61 in full. It sets no interval at all: the trigger is « Dès que le centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux concerné initie le processus de renouvellement ». The four-year figure the source list printed here comes from a different instrument (G-1.021 art. 598) and is already carried by the authorization row. Printing it twice risks the product showing a renewal date the operator must meet, when in law the operator waits to be asked. G-1.021 art. 600, which I read, only says Santé Québec must notify the holder at least six months before ruling on renewal.
No period is set.
- Resident fileDowngraded from the source list. I read article 57 in full, including the third paragraph (consents, autonomy screening results under art. 13.6, written refusals of the help-call system, disclosures of accidents, copies of accident declarations, notices given under art. 51) and the fourth paragraph for categories 3 and 4 (the wandering-risk sheet, control-measure records). Article 59 requires the files to be quickly accessible in an emergency or on request by an authorised person. No interval is set anywhere, so the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency.
- Securities registerI read art. 33 in full. It lists what the register must contain and sets no period for updating or reviewing it, so the grade is not_a_legal_frequency and the interval stays «none prescribed». The duty itself is confirmed on a primary source; it is the timing that does not exist.
- Security agency staff registerArticle 25 requires the register to be established and kept up to date, which is continuous, and sets a minimum retention: «Les informations inscrites au registre à l'égard de ces personnes doivent être conservées pour une durée minimale de 2 ans suivant la date de leur fin d'emploi.» That retention is a floor, not a cycle.
- Security certificate or written acknowledgment for each federal security holderI read s. 49 in full. Subsection (1): «Every security holder is entitled at their option to a security certificate that complies with this Act or a non-transferable written acknowledgment of their right to obtain such a security certificate from a corporation in respect of the securities of that corporation held by them.» The duty is real and the contents are prescribed, but no period is set anywhere in the section.
- Service contract with the firm that signs your safety paperworkThe previous pass read arts 2098 to 2102 in the consolidated Code, and I read arts 2125, 2126 and 2129 this pass. They define the contract, the supplier's standard of conduct and how either side may walk away. NOT ONE OF THEM requires the contract to be written, requires a certificate to be issued, requires a copy to be given to the client, or sets any frequency for the service. The visit cycle, where one exists, comes from whichever safety instrument governs that equipment - not from these articles.
- Share certificate, or a written notice where shares are issued without oneI read art. The duty is real and the contents are prescribed, but no period is set anywhere in arts. 62 to 65.
- Short three and a half hour training for small childcare, seniors' and family-type settingsRead in full on 17 September 2026. The second paragraph fixes the session at 'une duree de 3 heures 30 minutes' and lists five subjects. That is a course length, not a frequency, and the article sets no expiry or refresher cycle.
- Skipping the course on work experience or prior training - still must pass the examRead in full on 17 September 2026. The applicant writes to the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire du Quebec giving name, address, telephone number and the training concerned, attaching documents establishing either equivalent prior training or the qualifying years of work experience. None of these figures is a frequency - the two and three years are qualifying service, not a cycle.
- Smoke alarms installed in every dwelling and on every floorI read arts. 353 to 358 in full on CanLII. They say where alarms go, how they are wired and how they are mounted. None of them sets a testing or battery cycle, so the interval stays blank here. The ten-year replacement rule is a separate entry.
- Smoking: the ban in common areas, the posted signs, and the optional smoking roomADDED in the gap pass. I read article 2, paragraph 7.1°, which lists among the places where smoking is prohibited « les aires communes des résidences privées pour aînés au sens de la Loi sur la gouvernance du système de santé et de services sociaux ou de la Loi sur les services de santé et les services sociaux pour les Inuit et les Naskapis ». I read article 3, which lets the operator of such a place fit out an enclosed smoking room and sets its construction and ventilation requirements. I read article 10, the sign duty, and article 11, the duty not to tolerate smoking. None of them sets an interval, so the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency.
- Spare parts, repair services and repair informationThe previous pass read s. 39. Reasonable, with no number. A regulation may set durations for particular parts and information - I confirmed this pass that the enabling power is s. 350(d.8) and that, unlike its neighbours, it carries no coming-into-force note, so it is available now; but I did not find a regulation made under it and none is printed.
- Staffing agency must hold a CNESST permit before you use itThe previous pass read ss. 92.5, 92.6 and 92.7.1. Section 92.6 forbids the client from using an unlicensed agency but sets no re-check cycle. The three-month figure is in s. 92.7.1 and applies to the agency's attestation for obtaining and keeping its permit, so it is not a frequency for this business.
These are standing requirements with no cycle attached.
- Stationary machinery: classification notice posted in the machine room, and notice when an engineman leavesADDED IN THE GAP PASS. I read both articles verbatim in the CanLII consolidation. Neither sets a cycle. I did NOT read Schedule C, so this entry states no power threshold and no staffing level.
- Stop dissemination, de-index or re-index information about a person on requestArticle 28.1 sets criteria, including seven weighing factors in its third paragraph, not timing. Its last paragraph applies arts. 30, 32 and 34 with the necessary adaptations, which is where the 30 days comes from.
- Supervisory staff on duty in a building with a two-stage fire alarmAn earlier draft described this obligation as 'in a performing-arts hall holding more than 60 people, at least one trained supervisory staff member must be in the building the whole time it is open to the public' and cited Division B art. 2.8.2.3. 1). Art. 2.8.2.3 in the current Quebec modification list says something entirely different: it replaces, in paragraph 1), the words 'avec qui communiquer en cas d'incendie après les heures de travail' with wording about the persons responsible for applying the fire safety plan and the safety data sheets for dangerous goods. It is a fire-safety-plan contents article, not a staffing article. The obligation has therefore been recast around the rule that can actually be read and confirmed. Whether the 2020 base code separately requires one supervisory staff member in a Group A Division 1 occupancy of more than 60 people could not be verified - the base text is not freely readable - so that claim is struck rather than repeated.
- Swimming pool in the residence: supervision, posted rules, rescue plan and drowning noticeADDED in the gap pass. I read chapter IX in the consolidated Safety Code. Article 422 par. 1 brings in « une piscine ou une pataugeoire située dans un bâtiment visé par le chapitre VIII du présent code », which includes an RPA. Article 432 names private seniors' residences expressly. The duties are standing ones and no recurring interval is prescribed anywhere in the chapter, so the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency. The one number in the chapter, the 24-hour notice in article 426, is triggered by an event, not a cycle: « Le propriétaire d'un lieu de baignade doit aviser la Régie du bâtiment du Québec dans les 24 heures de tout évènement de type noyade ou noyade non mortelle pour lequel les services d'urgence sont intervenus. »
- Swimming pool registerI read arts. 20, 21 and 22 in full. They impose the register, a two-year retention and a posting duty, but set no cycle for producing or renewing the register itself.
- Tax notice beside the price of food productsNEW LINE, and graded not_a_legal_frequency because the article imposes the duty and sets no interval. I read art. 223.0.1 verbatim in the consolidated text, with no not-in-force marker attached to it: «Sauf dans le cadre d'un service de restauration, un commerçant qui offre en vente un produit alimentaire destiné à la consommation humaine doit indiquer, à proximité du prix, si le montant de la taxe de vente du Québec ou de la taxe sur les produits et services du Canada sera ajouté, au moment du paiement, au prix du produit alimentaire.» No cycle.
- Tell people when a decision about them was made purely by automated processingThe timing is tied to the moment the decision is communicated (« au plus tard au moment où elle l'informe de cette décision »), not to any number of days.
- Tell the public where their personal information is kept and how to get at itArticle 29 states a standing duty with no cycle.
- Telling each tenant, personally, the name and address of the new landlord when the building is soldADDED IN THE GAP PASS. I read art. The article sets NO deadline and does not in terms command the notice; it gives the tenant a remedy for not getting one. So the duty is real in effect and carries no interval, and the interval stays blank rather than being guessed at.
- Telling residents at once if the authorization is suspended, revoked or not renewedADDED in the gap pass. » « Aussitôt » is a promptness rule triggered by receiving a decision, not a frequency, so the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency.
- The commercial lease itselfI opened and read art. 1851 in the consolidated Code and confirmed it word for word this pass. Article 1851 defines a lease and says nothing about form, duration, renewal notice or record-keeping. No article sets a frequency.
- The construction contractor you hire must hold an RBQ licenceThe previous pass read ss. 46, 65.1, 200 and 201. Section 46 binds the contractor, not the client. No section requires an ordinary business to verify a licence, and none sets a re-check interval.
- The corporate book kept at the head office (the minute book)I opened the Act on CanLII and read art. It imposes a standing duty to keep the books at the head office and sets no period, so by this register's own rule the grade is not_a_legal_frequency and the interval stays «none prescribed». The duty itself is confirmed on a primary source; it is the timing that does not exist.
- The landlord's own duties, which the lease cannot quietly removeI read arts 1854 and 1855 word for word again this pass, and arts 1865, 1866, 1867 and 1869 for the first time. They state duties that run for the whole term. No article sets an inspection cycle, a repair deadline or a reporting frequency. Article 1866 is the closest thing to a clock and it says only «dans un délai raisonnable» - a reasonable time, with no number.
- The price shown on every itemNEW LINE, and graded not_a_legal_frequency because the article imposes the duty and sets no interval. I read art. It is a standing duty with no cycle.
- The register and documents for co-owners must be in FrenchI read art. It imposes the duty and names the enforcer, but sets no cycle and requires no periodic filing.
- The syndicate's registerI read arts. 1070 and 1070.1 in full. Article 1070 imposes the duty to keep the register and lists its contents across three paragraphs, but sets no cycle for reviewing or refiling it. Individual items inside it carry their own deadlines (minutes within 30 days, logbook and study within 60 days), and those are recorded separately.
- Thirty hours of trade training to renew an apprentice certificateThe 30 hours is a quantity tied to the certificate's own 1 year life («durant la période de validité du certificat expiré»), not a separate cycle. Thirty hours is not a date and must not be printed as one.
- Tobacco retailing – display ban and the point-of-sale signsI read all of these verbatim. Art. 20.4: the operator must post the signs «dès que Santé Québec les lui fournit» – triggered by supply, not by a cycle – and the art. 20.2 display ban is continuous.
- Training of supervisory staffThe trigger is being given a fire safety responsibility, not a calendar, and no instrument read sets a refresher interval. The article number 2.8.1.2 is CONFIRMED to exist and to be the supervisory-staff article in the current code, because Quebec expressly modifies it in Appendice 1. The specific paragraph that carries the pre-assignment training duty is in the unmodified base text, which is not freely readable, so the paragraph number is not printable. The assertion that this article is 'untouched by the Quebec modification list' is wrong: Quebec inserts words into paragraph 2) and adds three new paragraphs.
- Valid consent: how it must be asked forArticle 14, third paragraph, says consent is valid only for the time needed to achieve the purpose for which it was asked — that is a condition, not a renewal interval. No statutory re-consent cycle exists.
- Wandering-risk measures and resident identification sheetDowngraded from the source list. I read article 24 in full. The duty to fit the devices is continuous for categories 3 and 4; the sheet is triggered by a resident presenting a wandering risk. The regulation says the photograph must be « récente » but does not say how often it must be refreshed, so no refresh date may be printed and the grade must be not_a_legal_frequency.
- Warn people before using technology that can identify, locate or profile themThe duty is to inform in advance, on each such collection. No cycle, no deadline.
- Water cooling tower registerADDED ON THE GAP PASS. Art. 406 requires the file 'pendant l'existence de l'installation de tours de refroidissement à l'eau' and sets no cycle, though it does fix a two-year retention for the water analyses. PROVENANCE: carried over from the commercial-buildings pass of this same project; LegisQuebec and CanLII were blocked by the egress proxy on this pass.
- Water cooling tower registerI read art. 406 verbatim. It requires the file «pendant l'existence de l'installation de tours de refroidissement à l'eau» and sets no cycle, though it does fix a two-year retention for the water analyses.
- Water cooling tower registerI read art. 406 in full. It requires the register 'Pendant l'existence de l'installation de tours de refroidissement à l'eau', available on the premises for the Régie to consult. It sets no cycle, though it does set a two-year retention for water analysis results.
- Which consumer contracts must be in writingThe previous pass read ss. 23, 24, 25, 27 and 28, and I re-read s. 23 this pass. They govern the form and handover of the contract at the moment it is made. None sets a cycle or a renewal.
- Worship, charitable and educational exemption from music royaltiesThe section was fetched from the Department of Justice site and the TEXT is confirmed word for word: '(3) Les organisations ou institutions religieuses, les établissements d'enseignement et les organisations charitables ou fraternelles ne sont pas tenus de payer une compensation si les actes suivants sont accomplis dans l'intérêt d'une entreprise religieuse, éducative ou charitable: a) l'exécution, en direct et en public, d'une oeuvre musicale; b) l'exécution en public tant de l'enregistrement sonore que de l'oeuvre musicale ou de la prestation de l'oeuvre musicale qui le constituent; c) l'exécution en public du signal de communication porteur ...'. The section is in force, last amended 2012, c. 20, s. 38, page updated 11 September 2026. But under the grading rule, 'confirmed' is a promise about an INTERVAL, and this provision prescribes none - it is an exemption, not a duty. The honest grade is not_a_legal_frequency with the text confirmed.
- Written agreement before sharing personal information in a sale of the businessThe previous pass read s. 18.4 in the consolidated Act. It requires an agreement to be concluded beforehand and lists four undertakings. The only timing word is «dans un délai raisonnable» for notifying affected people after the deal closes - reasonable, with no number.
- Written contract with any supplier that handles personal informationThe previous pass read s. 18.3 in the consolidated Act. It requires the mandate or contract to be in writing and to contain specified clauses. It sets no review cycle, no renewal date and no interval.
- Written contract with any supplier who handles your personal informationArticle 18.3 is triggered when the mandate or contract is given. No renewal cycle and no deadline is set. The only timing words inside it are « sans délai » for the supplier's duty to report a breach, which is a trigger, not an interval.
- Written governance policies and practices for personal information, published in plain languageThe article requires the policies to exist, be approved by the privacy officer and be published, and it sets no review or renewal cycle. An absence of an interval is graded not_a_legal_frequency, not confirmed.
- Written information to workers on sexual violence — NOT IN FORCE UNTIL 27 MAY 2027I fetched and read the regulation as published in the Gazette officielle du Québec, Partie 2, 27 May 2026, 158th year, no. 21, pp. 2851-2852, and I separately confirmed in the Act that LSST art. 223, first paragraph, paragraph 9.1° and art. 51(16°) both exist and say what the decree's recitals say they say. Arts. 3, 7, 9 and 10 impose standing duties — information transmitted in writing, a complaint and report procedure available at the workplace, a designated person to receive and handle complaints, and diligent handling. None of them sets a repeat cycle. Only the training in art. 4 carries an interval, and that is recorded separately.
- You are solidarily liable for your subcontractor's wage obligationsThe previous pass read s. 95. It states a liability that runs for as long as the relationship does. It sets no verification cycle and no document deadline.
- You may not refuse a customer or a job applicant because they would not give you informationNEW IN THIS PASS. I read article 9 in the consolidated French text. It is a prohibition triggered by a request, with no timing.
- Your contractor's CNESST assessment can be claimed from youThe previous pass read s. 316. It gives the Commission a power; it imposes no verification schedule on the business and names no interval. The validity period of the compliance attestation a business would obtain is set administratively by the CNESST, not by this section.
